Overview
The Candela Matrix™ is a multi-application radiofrequency platform — from the same manufacturer as our Nordlys™ system. While light and laser treatments target pigmentation and vessels, radiofrequency works at depth: controlled heat stimulates new collagen formation and improves skin firmness and structure.
At Meda Esthetic we work with two applicators:
Sublime® — non-invasive skin tightening. Infrared light and bipolar radiofrequency heat the dermis in a controlled way, without disrupting the skin surface. Collagen production is stimulated and skin appears progressively firmer and smoother. No downtime.
Sublative™ RF — fractional skin renewal. Bipolar radiofrequency is delivered below the skin surface through a multi-electrode array. The controlled micro-impulses trigger a renewal process — while the epidermis stays largely intact. Designed to improve acne scars, fine lines, enlarged pores and uneven skin texture.
An advantage over light-based methods: radiofrequency does not make skin light-sensitive and works independently of melanin content — treatment is possible year-round and across skin types.
Clinically established, CE-certified technology — available in Europe since early 2026. Meda Esthetic is the first studio in Switzerland to work with the Candela Matrix™. Branislav Lukić has been working with the platform for three years — as a Candela Key Opinion Leader in international practice, well before its European launch. In use at Meda Esthetic from August 2026 — appointments can already be requested.

The Process
Skin Assessment & Protocol Selection
We assess your skin and your goals, and determine whether Sublime®, Sublative™ RF or the combined Matrix™ Protocol is right for you.
Preparation
Your skin is cleansed and prepared. Makeup and skincare products are removed so the radiofrequency energy can act evenly.
Matrix™ Treatment
The selected applicator is applied zone by zone. You feel controlled warmth; with Sublative™ RF, brief pinpoint impulses. Numbing is usually not required.
Post-Treatment Soothing
We apply a soothing serum and SPF protection. Mild redness and warmth usually settle within a few hours.
Aftercare & Follow-Up
You receive clear aftercare instructions. We schedule your next session — typically 4-6 weeks apart — and track your progress through the series.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Sublime® and Sublative™ RF?
Sublime® tightens: infrared and radiofrequency heat the deep dermis without disrupting the surface — no downtime. Sublative™ RF renews: fractional impulses below the skin surface improve scars, pores and texture — with 1-3 days of mild redness. In your initial assessment we determine what suits your skin.
Is the treatment painful?
Sublime® is usually experienced as comfortable warmth. With Sublative™ RF you feel brief pinpoint impulses — most clients tolerate them well. Numbing cream is usually not required.
How many sessions do I need?
For Sublative™ RF we typically recommend 3 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart. Sublime® develops its effect over 4-6 monthly sessions; afterwards, maintenance sessions at longer intervals are sufficient.
When will I see results?
An initial tightening effect often shows right after the session. The main effect develops through new collagen formation over 4-12 weeks — skin improves progressively across the full series.
How is this different from a laser treatment?
Light and laser methods like our Nordlys™ target pigment and vessels. Radiofrequency works on firmness and structure independently of skin tone — and does not make skin light-sensitive. The two approaches complement each other; many treatment plans combine them.
Can I combine Sublime® and Sublative™ RF?
Yes — our Matrix™ Protocol combines both applicators in the same session: tightening at depth and renewal of the surface in one appointment. Whether the protocol makes sense for your skin is something we clarify in your consultation.
Which skin types is the treatment suitable for?
Radiofrequency works independently of the skin's melanin content and is therefore suitable for a range of skin types — including those where light-based methods can only be used with restrictions. We clarify individual suitability in your initial assessment.
How much experience do you have with the Candela Matrix™?
The Candela Matrix™ has only been available in Europe since early 2026. Branislav Lukić has been working with the platform for three years — as a Candela Key Opinion Leader in his international practice. This experience flows directly into every treatment protocol.
When is the treatment available?
The Candela Matrix™ has been available in Europe since early 2026; Meda Esthetic is the first studio in Switzerland to work with the system. In use from August 2026 — appointments can already be requested, and the initial assessment is free of charge.
